The Pioneer 10 carries a 152 by 229 mm (6.0 by 9.0 inches) gold-anodized aluminum plaque designed by Carl Sagan..

The PIONEER PLAQUE (or CARL SAGAN PLAQUE) were placed on board the 1972 Pioneer 10 spacecraft, featuring a pictorial message (see Fig. 1), in case  intercepted by intelligent extraterrestrial life from another planetary system.

When Pioneer's photosensors detect a monolith outside with SPACE DANCERS, the camera takes photos and….

 

SURPRISE!...The SPACE DANCERS now are on the plaque too. Nobody knows how it has been drawn on the Carl Sagan plaque. (see Fig. 2)
