pioneer 10

Pioneer 10 is an American space probe, launched in 1972 and weighing 258 kilograms (569 pounds), that completed the first mission to the planet Jupiter.

During the mission, the on board instruments were used to study the asteroids belt, the environment around Jupiter, the solar wind, the cosmic rays, and eventually the far reaches of the Solar System and the heliosphere.

​The Pioneer carries the Carl Sagan plaque.

But… on his way…OH! SURPRISE! the camera takes THREE PHOTOS of a monolith with SPACE DANCERS. And... nobody knows how they have been engraved on the Carl Sagan plaque. It's a MISTERY... (see the plaque)
